Audi Q5: Rear Midrange Speaker, Removing and Installing

Audi Q5 Type 8R (2008 - 2017) Service Manual / Electrical System / Communication / Sound System / Rear Midrange Speaker, Removing and Installing

The Left Rear Midrange Speaker -R105-/Right Rear Midrange Speaker -R106- are located in the D-pillar trim panels.

Removing and installing is identical.

- Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.

  WARNING

Danger of unintended engine ignition

Turn off the ignition and remove the ignition key from the vehicle interior for all work performed on the high voltage vehicle.

Removing

- Unclip the speaker trim in the D-pillar.

- Remove the screws -2- from the Left Rear Midrange Speaker -R105--3-.

- Remove the Left Rear Midrange Speaker -R105--3- from the D-pillar trim panel -1-.

- Disconnect the connector from the Left Rear Midrange Speaker -R105--3-.

Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.

Tightening specifications and installation instructions can be found in the Component Location Overview. Refer to → Chapter "Component Location Overview - Sound System, Basic/Standard".

Front Midrange Speaker, Removing and Installing

Front Midrange Speaker, Removing and Installing, Bang & Olufsen

The Left Front Midrange Speaker -R103-/Right Front Midrange Speaker -R104- are located in the instrument panel.

Removing and installing is identical.

- Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.

  WARNING

Danger of unintended engine ignition

Turn off the ignition and remove the ignition key from the vehicle interior for all work performed on the high voltage vehicle.

Removing

- Unclip the speaker trim from the instrument panel.

- Remove the screws on the -1-Left Front Midrange Speaker -R103--2- and remove the Left Front Midrange Speaker -R103--2- from the instrument panel -3-.

- Disconnect the connector on the Left Front Midrange Speaker -R103--2-.

- Remove the Left Front Midrange Speaker -R103--2- completely from the instrument panel -3-.

Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.

Rear Mid-Bass Speaker, Removing and Installing

The Left Rear Mid-Bass Speaker -R159-/Right Rear Mid-Bass Speaker -R160- are located at the bottom of the rear doors.

Removing and installing is identical.

- Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.

  WARNING

Danger of unintended engine ignition

Turn off the ignition and remove the ignition key from the vehicle interior for all work performed on the high voltage vehicle.

Removing

- Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to → Body Interior; Rep. Gr.70; Rear Door Trim Panels; Rear Door Trim Panel, Removing and Installing.

- Disconnect the connector -1- from the Left Rear Mid-Bass Speaker -R159--4-.

- Remove the screws -2-, -3- and -5- and remove the Left Rear Mid-Bass Speaker -R159--4-.

Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.

- Make sure the pins -1- on the Left Rear Mid-Bass Speaker -R159--2- engage correctly in the left and right holes -arrow- below the threaded holes.

Left/Right Front Bass Speaker -R21-/-R23-, Removing and Installing

Front Mid-Bass Speaker and Front Bass Speaker, Removing and Installing

The Left Front Mid-Bass Speaker -R101-/Right Front Mid-Bass Speaker - R102-/Left Front Bass Speaker -R21-/Right Front Bass Speaker -R23- are located at the bottom of the front doors.

Removing and installing is identical.

- Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.

Turn off the ignition and remove the ignition key from the vehicle interior for all work performed on the high voltage vehicle.

Removing

- Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to → Body Interior; Rep. Gr.70; Front Door Trim Panels; Front Door Trim Panel, Removing and Installing.

- Disconnect the connector -3- from the Left Front Bass Speaker -R21--1-.

- Remove the screws -2- from the Left Front Bass Speaker -R21--1-.

- Remove the Left Front Bass Speaker -R21--1-.

Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.
