Removing
WARNING
- Remove the front seat. Refer to → Chapter "Front Seat, Removing and Installing".
- Attach the front seat to the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair Fixture -VAS6136-. Refer to → Chapter "Front Seat, Mounting on Fixture for Seat Repair".
- Disconnect the connectors -2 through 5- on the control module -1-.
- Unclip the tabs -arrows- using the Trim Removal Wedge -3409-.
- Carefully tilt the control module -1- in the -direction of arrow B- out of the retainers -2-.
- Slide the control module in the -direction of arrow A-.
- Disengage the tabs -arrow- from the control module bracket.
- Remove the control module from the bracket.
Installing
WARNING
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

WARNING
Ignition must be on when connecting battery. If pyrotechnic components (for example, airbag, belt tensioner) are not repaired correctly, they may deploy unintentionally after connecting battery. There must not be anyone inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.
DANGER!
When working on vehicles with the ignition already switched on or that are ready to drive there is a danger of the engine starting unexpectedly and of being poisoned by gas in enclosed areas. Risk of body parts and/or clothing being clamped or pulled.
Perform the following before switching on the ignition:
- Connect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to → Electrical Equipment; Rep. Gr.27; Battery; Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.
Note
If the Airbag Indicator Lamp -K75- indicates a fault, check the DTC memory, erase it and check it again → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
Memory Seat/Steering Column Adjustment Control Module Bracket, Removing and Installing
Removing
WARNING
- Remove the memory seat adjustment/steering column adjustment control module. Refer to → Chapter "Memory Seat/Steering Column Adjustment Control Module, Removing and Installing".
- Press the pin -2- toward the upholster and out of the clip -arrow A- on the bracket -1-, for example using an upholstery needle.
- Remove the pin from the seat.
- Remove the bracket support foot -2- from the upper seat frame.
- Remove the clip -arrow A- on the upper seat frame -1-.
- Disengage the retaining tabs -arrow B- (quantity: 2).
- Carefully remove the bracket from the lower seat frame in the -direction of the arrow-.
- Remove the bracket from the seat pan.
Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Make sure the connectors are installed correctly and are secure.
WARNING

Seat Ventilation Control Module and Seat Heating, Removing and Installing
Special tools and workshop equipment required
Removing
WARNING
- Turn on the ignition.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to → Electrical Equipment; Rep. Gr.27; Battery; Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.
- Remove the front seat. Refer to → Chapter "Front Seat, Removing and Installing".
- Attach the front seat to the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair Fixture -VAS6136-. Refer to → Chapter "Front Seat, Mounting on Fixture for Seat Repair".
- Disconnect the connector -2- from theRight Front Seat Ventilation Control Module -J799-/ Left Front Seat Ventilation Control Module -J800--item 1- by pressing the release button -arrow-.
- Release the strap -arrow 1- using the Trim Removal Wedge -3409-.
- Remove the control module from the bracket -arrow 2-.
- Release the tab on the control module -arrow 3- on the mount.
- Remove the control module.
Installing

Seat Cushion Fan, Removing and Installing
Removing
- Remove the seat pan upholstery. Refer to → Chapter "Seat Pan Cover and Upholstery, Removing and Installing, Standard, Comfort Seat".
- Free up the connector -2- and disconnect.
- Remove the bolts -1- and -3-.
- Turn the cover grille -4- counter-clockwise -arrow- and remove the fan.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.
